Greek plane fell when repelling Turkish planes
A Greek aircraft’s commander who was involved in a crackdown operation against Turkish pursuit planes was killed after his Mirage plane was downed in the Aegean Sea as the official television of ITR net reported.

These incidents come tense atmosphere between the two neighboring countries in NATO, especially because of the detention of two Greek soldiers by Turkey a month ago as they entered, according to Athens, by mistake to the Turkish lands during a patrol on the border.
Several times in recent weeks, Greece has expressed its intention to defend its sovereignty in the Aegean Sea, disputed over several areas with Turkey.
At the last EU Summit in late March, European commanders condemned Turkey's illegal moves in the Aegean Sea, and that in solidarity with Greece and Cyprus.
