Afrin protest in front of Leopard
The invasion attacks against Afrin were protested in front of the company that manufactures Leopard motors.

A joint demonstration was held by Keine Waffen von Bodensee (“No Weapons in Bodensee”), Die Linke and Mesopotamisches Kultur Zentrum (“Mesopotamian Cultural Center”) in Friedrichshaven in Bodensee, Germany.

The protest was organized against the German-made Leopard panzers being used by the Turkish state in attacks where civilians were killed in Afrin, in front of the company MTU GmbH who manufacture motors for the Leopard panzers.

The protesters carried banners that read “No war in Afrin”, “Why are panzers in Kurdish regions”, “Don’t join the civilian massacres against Kurds” and interest was high from German citizens as well.

PROF. GROTTIAN: “WE ARE AGAINST THE WAR THAT TARGETS KURDS”
Political scientist Prof. Dr. Peter Grottian, who joined the protest from Berlin, said: “No to killing Kurds. We don’t want to be party to a crime against humanity through the massacre of Kurds. Why doesn’t Chancellor Merkel object to weapons sales to critical regions? We are against the anti-Kurdish war in Afrin to the end. So the MTU should not sell panzers to Turkey. MTU should be shut down. It should be shut down so our policies supporting wars can end.”

HAYD: “DON’T BE PARTY TO THIS CRIME”
In her speech, Claudia Hayd from Die Linke said: “We stand with the Kurdish people who resist in Afrin to the end. So, arms sales to Turkey should be stopped. MTU company officials, I call on you! My brothers who work there, I call on you! The panzer motors you manufacture are killing people, don’t be party to this crime. We say no to Chancellor Merkel’s policies. No to arms trade! Bodensee should not be an arms paradise!”
