UNSC Sets a Meeting for Monday Over Turkish Attack on Afrin.

The United Nations Security Council has set an urgent session for Monday to discuss the Turkish military incursion into northern Syrian province of Afrin.
The UNSC agreed to the meeting hours after France called for holding the session.
French Foreign Ministry confirmed the report and stated that the issues pertaining to Afrin should be resolved through peaceful means between the sides.
“France calls on Turkey to act with restraint in a difficult context, with the humanitarian situation deteriorating in several regions of Syria as a consequence of the military actions of the Damascus regime and its allies,” France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said earlier.
The US has also expressed concern over the issue. The State Department has issues a statement to urge Ankara to “exercise restraint and ensure that its military operations remain limited in scope and duration and avoid civilian casualties.
