Obama: US to ramp up efforts in Syria

US President Barack Obama has said the US will continue to build even more international support to fight militant group ISIL.

Obama was speaking just hours after the first US and Arab airstrikes targeting the group in Syria.

"The strength of this coalition makes it clear to the world that this is not America's fight alone. Above all, the people and governments in the Middle East are rejecting ISIL. And standing up for the peace and security the people in the region and the world deserve.
